Agape

Agape (pronounced aga-pay) is a Greek word translated in the New Testament as love or charity. Agape love is a selfless love as felt by Christian people for their fellow human beings. It signifies giving rather than taking. It signifies a Christ-like heart. It is completely in harmony with the ministry objective at West which is Serving Christ, Serving Others.

 

The AGAPE course will help you discover your own distinctive;

 

  • Abilities – things i can do
  • Grace gifts – spiritual gifts from the holy spirit
  • Ardour –makes your heart beat a little faster
  • Personality –what sort of person you are
  • Experience –life expereinces that shape your life

The course usually runs on one Saturday in West and will be advertised on the website and church notices

Freedom in Christ

The Freedom in Christ Course is a proven and effective way for churches to help Christians become fruitful disciples. The course is made up of 10 weekly sessions with an Away Day. People have been transformed by taking part in this course which is an excellent follow-on to Alpha. The Freedom in Christ course provides a framework that allows people to examine their history and lifestyle without fear and humiliation and provides a way to walk from the shadows into the certainty of their new life in Christ. The course has amazing testimonies of healing and freedom which impacts on people’s lives.

Life in the Spirit

Do you want to experience afresh, or for the first time, the reality of His love for you, to know without a shadow of a doubt that God really does know you and talks to you, guiding and protecting, teaching and encouraging?

 

In the seminar we encourage and help all to know and experience:

 

  • the love of God the Father
  • the joy of forgiveness and release into freedom and peace through entering into a trusting relationship with Jesus as Saviour and Lord
  • a growing confidence in being able to call upon the gifts that the Spirit gives to bring hope, healing and encouragement to others
  • to learn to recognise God’s voice for themselves and to walk step by step in the Spirit as He leads.

 

Over the years many, many people have entered into a living, loving relationship with Jesus for the first time while others who may have been trusting Him for 5, 10, or even 50 years find a new exciting depth to their relationship with Him. Many people have been healed or begun the process of healing in the course of seminars. Such an encounter with Jesus brings hope in the One who loves them and who gives peace in the face of difficulties

Marriage Courses

Marriage Enrichment

The Marriage Course is very practical, giving any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that will last a lifetime.

Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.

Topics covered include: recognising each other’s needs, learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurt, knowing how to make each other feel loved, relating to parents and in-laws, making time for each other and having fun together.

Privacy as a couple is always respected and there is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.

Each evening begins with a candlelit meal. There is then a talk followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple, the setting is welcoming, relaxed and non-threatening.

Marriage Preparation

The Marriage Preparation Course is designed for couples considering marriage and wishing to build a strong and lasting relationship. While based on Christian principles, it is relevant and helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background. The course begins with supper, followed by a talk and an opportunity for discussion. Privacy is respected, there is no group discussion or group work, and no requirement to disclose anything about their relationship, but couples can discuss issues with a married ‘support couple’ if they wish.
